Roca Patrón Añejo Tequila is an artisanal expression from Patrón’s prestigious Roca line, created to showcase tequila in its most traditional and authentic form. Produced in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, this añejo is crafted entirely using the centuries-old tahona process, where volcanic stone wheels slowly crush cooked agave to extract the juice. This labor-intensive method yields a softer, richer spirit that reflects both heritage and craftsmanship, setting Roca apart from the broader Patrón range.
Made from 100% blue Weber agave harvested at peak maturity, the spirit is slow-cooked in brick ovens before undergoing tahona crushing and open fermentation. It is then distilled in small copper pot stills, preserving the agave’s depth of character. To create Roca Patrón Añejo, the tequila is aged for around 14 months in American oak barrels, where it develops refined layers of oak spice, caramelized sweetness, and balanced warmth while retaining the natural vibrancy of the agave.
The presentation reflects its artisanal origins, with each bottle carrying a handcrafted feel and the Roca Patrón designation to signify its distinct production process. Bottled at 88 proof, slightly higher than the standard Patrón Añejo, it offers a fuller, more robust expression without sacrificing smoothness.
For tequila lovers, Roca Patrón Añejo is more than just an aged tequila—it is a tribute to traditional methods and the artistry of Jalisco’s master distillers. With its combination of heritage, complexity, and elevated proof, it stands as one of the most refined añejos in the Patrón portfolio and a true showcase of tequila’s potential when crafted with patience and respect for tradition.
