Deerhammer American Malt Whiskey is the flagship expression of Deerhammer Distilling Company, crafted in Buena Vista, Colorado. Inspired by Scottish single malt traditions but distinctly American in execution, this whiskey begins with 100% malted barley, carefully sourced to showcase the grain’s natural richness.

The spirit is distilled on custom-built copper pot stills, allowing for maximum retention of malt character and complexity. After distillation, it is matured in new, charred American white oak barrels rather than the used barrels traditionally employed in Scotch production. This choice gives the whiskey a uniquely American identity while still honoring old-world malt heritage.

Aged at nearly 8,000 feet in Colorado’s rugged climate, the whiskey undergoes accelerated interaction with oak due to dramatic shifts in temperature and altitude. Each small batch is closely monitored to ensure balance and integrity before bottling at 46% ABV.
