WhistlePig Double Malt 18 Year Old Rye Whiskey is the distillery’s oldest expression, crafted with an unusual mashbill of 79% rye, 15% malted rye, and 6% malted barley. The nose opens with refined aromas of vanilla, oak, and caramel layered with dried fruit, honey, and gentle floral notes. On the palate, it is elegant yet powerful, offering flavors of toffee, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, and baking spices balanced by citrus peel, leather, and tobacco. The malted rye and barley bring added creaminess and complexity, giving the whiskey depth beyond traditional rye spice. The finish is exceptionally long, smooth, and warming, leaving lingering notes of oak, spice, and subtle sweetness.
